Nowadays, I hardly ever buy Christmas Cards but make my own. In 2016, I started a series together with a good friend of mine. Our first concept was inspired by the stunning ceilings of churches. Reducing them to geometric shapes they very much resembled Christmas ornaments. To add to the seasonal spirit, we cut the shapes out of medium-density fibreboard and combined them with colourful card stock paper. The result were festive and unique greeting cards. In the following year, the process remained the same, just the subject changed. Origami, being a way to relax and focus your mind, appeared to be a suitable topic.
